How Franken May Fare Well
Posted in News Clips on September 26th, 2007
Last Saturday, Al headed south. The Jackson County DFL was having a dinner and it was King Turkey Day in Worthington. Somewhere during the festivities, Al found a minute to sit down with the editor of the Worthington Daily Globe.
[Franken] showed he isn’t adversarial by nature during a visit to the Daily Globe on King Turkey Day weekend. Dressed casually in a sweatshirt and jeans, Franken was both funny (³We live in a testocracy,² he said of the controversial No Child Left Behind legislation) and intelligent (some may not realize he graduated cum laude from Harvard University). And, above all, Franken didn¹t seem to bask in an aura of celebrity while discussing issues of national importance; he simply answered questions in the manner of a
patriot, a man who cares about his country.
