Super Al is the Answer

Al Franken is not a politician. He is a comedian, a representative, and most of all, a Minnesotan. These are the things that make him such a strong candidate for the Senate. Al Franken has taken the approach that people need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, but you first need the boots, and this is where government is crucial. Franken is for the people; the betterment of our country is his goal. He is here to fix everything that has become a major problem throughout the last six years. Just think of him as Super Al.

Franken is not ignoring the fact that Washington has made many mistakes over the last six years, which is also known as the presidency of George W. Bush. There is a call for a zero-tolerance approach to the fraud, corruption, and waste that has been the black mark, or maybe it just completely covered by the Bush regime. Al Franken is ready to answer that call and shake things up in the senate. Incumbents in the Senate are no longer achieving what they were sent there to do. In order to keep the executive branch in check, the Senators need to take a stand against it. Al Franken will do this.

We all know that, eventually, all of the gas will be gone. In the meantime, more wars will begin to help countries (or at least our country) sustain the high amount of oil used. Al Franken recognizes this, and has decided that our energy policy needs to be altered and our dependency on foreign oil needs to be ended. Al Franken is calling for a new “Apollo Project,” but instead of putting a man on the moon, we will be putting intelligent people in charge of creating and discovering new renewable resources. Franken is a true Minnesotan, and knows how many wonderful resources we have here. These not only include corn and soybeans, but also wind. Minnesota, with all of its prairies, is a very windy state, that has prompted the increased interest in wind turbines, such as our own, as an alternate means of energy.

As I’m sure we are all aware, the Iraq war is failing miserably. There is no exit plan in sight, and many of our soldiers are being forced to spend multiple terms abroad risking their lives daily. Al Franken has spoken against the war from the start; he is a candidate that has no gray area on his thoughts about the war. He believes that this has been a mistake, and it is time to get out and have our soldiers come back home. There is a general consensus that military power alone cannot fix Iraq. Franken is ready to take the steps necessary to end the war and start to repair the foreign opinion of our country; this way, people would finally be able to travel to foreign countries and not have to claim to be Canadian.

Al Franken is the answer to all of our problems. This is because he isn’t a politician. He is a Minnesotan. Al Franken recognizes the problems in government today and has ideas and plans to fix them. This actually makes him overqualified for the Senate position, but it’s things like this we are willing to forgive. Al Franken is here to start mending the major problems in this country (such as oil dependence, war, and mistrust in the government) that have formed throughout the last six years. He is one of the few, the proud, and the mighty who are ready to change and improve our government. He is Super Al.
