SAINT PAUL [1/10/08] - Today, the Al Franken for US Senate campaign is proud to announce the support of former governor Wendell “Wendy” Anderson, State Senator and DNC-member Mee Moua (DFL-St. Paul), State Senator-elect Kevin Dahle (DFL-Northfield), State Representative Phyllis Kahn (DFL-Minneapolis), and State Representative Maria Ruud (DFL-Minnetonka).
Their endorsements bring Al’s total to 50 state legislators - 25 from greater Minnesota and 25 from the metro.
Governor Wendell “Wendy” Anderson released the following statement:
“I think Al Franken will be a fantastic Senator for the state of Minnesota. I also know he will quickly become a national political leader.”
Sen. Mee Moua added:
“Al doesn’t use a political calculator — he knows what’s right in his gut and isn’t afraid to speak up on the issues that matter. That’s the kind of champion ALL Minnesotans and ALL Americans need.”
Rep. Phyllis Kahn said:
“Al is living proof that you don’t have to be boring to be a deeply serious candidate. His campaign is exciting, creative, and action-oriented — in short, it’s everything a Democratic campaign should be. When he spoke at two jam-packed rallies for Kevin Dahle’s campaign, I knew that my instincts about Al were right: he’s the best candidate for U.S. Senate to generate the energy we’ll need to beat Norm Coleman.”
And the newest member of Minnesota’s legislature, Kevin Dahle, had this to say:
“I like what Al stands for. He has the best interests of Minnesota in mind. He’s sincere about what he wants to do for Minnesotans and the whole United States.”
