Good press keeps coming about Al’s recent northern swing. The Wadena Pioneer Journal covered Al’s stop at the local Pizza Ranch.

Wadena resident Cherie Boen talked to Franken after his speech about health care. Franken, already staying past his scheduled 6 p.m. departure, took a moment to sit down with Boen, hold her hand, and listen to her.

Boen said if William McGuire, the outgoing CEO of UnitedHealth, can afford to get more than $1 billion in compensation, our health care system can afford to cover everyone.

Al Franken not only entertained listeners who packed Bella Caffé Friday, he sought serious support for DFL endorsement and a run against Norm Coleman for US Senate.

A satirist, Franken said, sizes up a situation, cuts through the baloney and gets to the truth. “Pretty good training for the US Senate, don’t you think?” he quipped.
