A couple weeks ago, we stopped in Bemidji over night on the way to International Falls. And while we were there, we caught up with Bemidji Pioneer editor Brad Swenson at the Green Mill. The conversation over walleye ranged from guns, to carbon sequestration, to sustainable forestry, to how frustrated Norm Coleman is getting.

The operative word the electorate seems to be embracing this election cycle is “change.”

And, in Minnesota, you probably couldn’t get a more obvious “change” than in Al Franken, a Democrat vying for the party nomination to run against incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman.
