New Statewide Spot Clearly Defines The Choice For Minnesotans

After A Week Of RNC Spin, Franken Lays Out Clear Change Agenda To Help Minnesota Families

Saint Paul [09/05/08] – The Al Franken for Senate campaign today released a new television ad, “Stand For.” The :30 spot clearly defines the choice between Al Franken and Norm Coleman on issues that matter to Minnesotans.

Communications Director Andy Barr:

“With just 60 days left in this campaign, the choice Minnesotans face is coming into focus. Al Franken is offering real change: an end to the Iraq war, an iron-clad commitment to protecting Social Security, and tax cuts for middle-class families. Norm Coleman is offering more of the same: more war, more risky schemes to privatize Social Security, and more taxpayer giveaways to special interests and the wealthiest one percent of Americans. ‘Stand For’ is a simple and clear ad. And this election offers a simple and clear choice.”

Al Franken: I think Minnesota deserves a senator who stands with Minnesotans for a change. I stand for ending the war. Norm Coleman wants to keep it going. I stand for protecting Social Security. He wants to privatize it. I stand for helping middle class families afford health care, college, and a full tank of gas. Norm’s stood with the oil companies and the drug companies and the special interests. If you’re ready for a senator who stands with you, I’m asking you to stand with me. I’m Al Franken and I approved this message.
