Statement of Al Franken on Winning DFL Primary

Posted in Press Releases on September 9th, 2008

SAINT PAUL [9/9/08] – U.S. Senate Candidate Al Franken:

“The choice is now clear for Minnesotans: will we stay the course with Norm Coleman and his support of George Bush’s failed agenda – or will we set a new course for our middle-class families and a new direction for our country? I want to thank all the DFLers who participated in this primary election and congratulate Norm Coleman and Dean Barkley on their victories tonight. And, after a good night’s sleep, I look forward to waging a spirited campaign for change over the next eight weeks.”

Tomorrow, DFL-endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken will kick off the general election with a rally Wednesday at the Paul and Sheila Wellstone Center in St. Paul. Joined by David Wellstone, Franken will outline the difference between his commitment to stay loyal to Minnesotans and Coleman’s work for special interests.
