Coffee Shops, Football, and our 100th House Party!

We took the hybrid on a trip up to St. Cloud on Saturday, where Al rallied volunteers before a doorknock, stopped by a couple coffee shops to greet voters, attended the Great River Regional Public Library Grand Opening and that was all before noon!
Then we headed over to Collegeville for a pre-football game rally at St. John’s. The St. Cloud Times was there to see what we were up to:
Al Franken stood on a chair outside of Sexton Commons at St. John’s University to be seen better among the sea of red that precedes a Johnnies football game on Saturday afternoons.
“Go Johnnies! Remember, we love our friends at Concordia, and at the end of the day, we’re all Minnesotans,” Franken told the crowd. Then, after a pause, “Go Johnnies!”

Afterwards, Women for Franken held a house party in St. Cloud where local women gathered to meet Al. State Auditor Rebecca Otto and Sen. Tarryl Clark were both there, as well.
More from the St. Cloud Times:
Later Saturday, independent women from the St. Cloud area were expected to turn up at a house party where they could ask Franken questions about his stance on the issues in person, said Sen. Tarryl Clark, DFL-St. Cloud.
Clark, one of the event’s featured guests, said the event drew a crowd of at least 70 people.
“It’s a chance to talk to Al and find out what a difference he’d make to their lives,” she said. “Some of them are already Obama supporters, and they need to know that Obama needs a working (Democratic) majority in the Senate to get things done that will help families.”

And the day wasn’t done yet - it was back to the metro for TeamFranken, for a Rally for Change in Plymouth and another Women for Franken event in Bloomington. The Bloomington Women for Franken event marked a milestone for our campaign - it was the 100th house party we’ve held.
