WASHINGTON, D.C. – To Washington, where the budget battle continues.
Wednesday, President Obama said proposed republican cuts to social programs and entitlements goes to far.
At the same time, Minnesota Senator Al Franken is taking exception to the president’s plan to cut low income heating assistance by the billions.
“I just think that’s the wrong thing to do… is cut off heating for low–income and seniors. Like you said, it cuts it almost in half.”
The president’s proposal would cut low income heating assitance from $5.1 billion to $2.7 billion.
Franken says he will fight to keep low income heating funding in place.
